QUOTES

  • “I like helping people better understand exactly what they can do. to maximize their time and leverage technology to make sure that they're growing their business, generating new sales, etc.” - Sebastian Rusk
  • “Now for people who are familiar with automation and the ability to do certain things, they would understand that a lot of things you can do for business profiles, but you can't necessarily do for personal profiles. 00:00:05.027 --> 00:00:09.695
this is the beyond the story podcast, a show that goes way beyond the story.

00:00:09.695 --> 00:00:23.864
And now sebastian ross.

00:00:23.884 --> 00:00:24.684
Hi, welcome to the show.

00:00:24.684 --> 00:00:28.707
Thank you, sir, happy to be here, happy to have you here.

00:00:28.707 --> 00:00:39.213
So you and I connected a few weeks back we're both part of the wonderful mastermind group Apex and I saw you giving a presentation.

00:00:39.213 --> 00:00:40.253
I'd never seen you before.

00:00:40.253 --> 00:00:47.517
We met the first time there and then I saw you giving a presentation, demoing your software, and I was like wait a second, this guy's onto something.

00:00:47.517 --> 00:00:48.838
I got to take a closer look at this.

00:00:48.838 --> 00:00:55.628
So you and I connected on a call last week or a week before last, and you walked me through what the software is all about.

00:00:55.628 --> 00:00:56.905
I said we need to get you on the show.

00:00:57.622 --> 00:01:10.069
I like helping people better understand exactly what they can do to maximize their time and leverage technology to make sure that they're growing their business, generating new sales, et cetera, et cetera.

00:01:10.069 --> 00:01:16.469
So I wanted to bring you on the show to tell the story of how HeyHey became a reality.

00:01:16.469 --> 00:01:19.462
But before we get into all that, let's back up a little bit.

00:01:19.462 --> 00:01:29.341
Let's help our listeners better understand a little bit more about you and your backstory and what really brought you to present day, with where we're at right now, and then we'll unpack exactly what HeyHey does for people.

00:01:30.504 --> 00:01:33.129
Yeah, wonderful, yeah.

00:01:33.129 --> 00:01:36.540
So, going back, one of my big things I was in the Marine Corps.

00:01:36.540 --> 00:01:41.271
I served two tours in Iraq during from like 2000 to 2006.

00:01:41.271 --> 00:01:58.040
So kind of in the height of a lot of action and stuff, and when I got home, I dove right into sales, started in life insurance sales was terrible at that and then got an opportunity to work in banking and finance sales, found my niche there and really succeeded.

00:01:58.040 --> 00:02:17.668
Sometime after the housing crisis, though, I found myself being homeless, and I was a typical statistic a homeless veteran alcoholic living in a tent with my dog, and at the time I was selling everything I had on the internet and I ran out of stuff to sell.

00:02:17.668 --> 00:02:29.507
So I started flipping at garage sales this was around 2010 or something like that and finding other things to sell online, and that turned into an e-commerce business.

00:02:29.507 --> 00:02:36.687
So I started a fulfilled by Amazon e-commerce business, had that for a number of years.

00:02:36.687 --> 00:02:42.032
That eventually, I lost when I had my child and went back to a W-2 in sales.

00:02:42.032 --> 00:03:01.748
Since then, I continue to work on projects mostly around sales technology and internet marketing over the past, say, decade and a half, and also did some government work with disability stuff in between there to kind of serve my community and serve veterans.

00:03:02.469 --> 00:03:17.074
But I was selling consulting services to Fortune 500s for the past two years and that opportunity came to an end and I had to figure out my next move.

00:03:17.074 --> 00:03:36.092
And one of those moves was a partner and I were looking to build a custom CRM for social media and we started going out, looking at the competition, trying to find out who's in the marketplace, what's in the marketplace, and there really wasn't a lot, but we did find.

00:03:36.092 --> 00:03:48.706
We ended up finding a company who was about 80% to the way of where we wanted to go and, with my situation, I decided to reach out to them and partner with them and that's how HeyHey was born.

00:03:48.706 --> 00:03:50.131
So I partnered with the developers.

00:03:50.131 --> 00:04:02.645
I didn't develop it myself, I partnered with them to now bring it to market under the HeyHey brand and to my audience and to my circle and to the market out there.

00:04:02.645 --> 00:04:06.012
So that's how HeyHey came to fruition.

00:04:06.012 --> 00:04:12.231
A number of years in sales technology, entrepreneurship and eventually now here we are.

00:04:12.812 --> 00:04:23.454
I primarily I consult in sales technology and HeyHey CRM is my main offer at this time and so.

00:04:23.454 --> 00:04:24.918
But there are lots of tools.

00:04:24.918 --> 00:04:27.202
I think I've talked to you about some of the other cool tools.

00:04:27.202 --> 00:04:30.271
I use Some of them, I help clients implement others.

00:04:30.271 --> 00:04:32.904
I just pass them off, let them know what's out there.

00:04:33.507 --> 00:04:43.814
But the idea is my goal is to build a RoboCop salesperson, and I don't know if RoboCop is a it might be, I don't know.

00:04:43.814 --> 00:04:45.125
Have they done a remake lately.

00:04:45.125 --> 00:04:49.839
It might be a little bit of a whole generation won't get that reference.

00:04:49.839 --> 00:05:00.108
But essentially like a mechanized, an AI and technology enhanced sales rep, right, who just makes the system and the process so much easier.

00:05:00.108 --> 00:05:05.290
Because I'm a sales guy at heart and, to be honest, I'm a lazy sales guy at heart.

00:05:05.290 --> 00:05:08.867
There's a lot of admin work that I just hate doing.

00:05:08.867 --> 00:05:13.327
I just want to talk to people, I build relationships, solve problems and get paid.

00:05:13.327 --> 00:05:14.271
That's all I want to do.

00:05:14.271 --> 00:05:19.475
And so follow-ups and text messages and emails and all these things.

00:05:19.475 --> 00:05:26.076
I would rather outsource that, and when I can outsource that to technology, even better, because it's more affordable and effective.

00:05:27.581 --> 00:05:28.141
Love it Well.

00:05:28.141 --> 00:05:29.562
First of all, thank you for your service.

00:05:29.562 --> 00:05:31.023
That's no easy task.

00:05:31.023 --> 00:05:37.968
I couldn't even imagine what that entails, and then you came back and had a whole nother slew of battles to combat.

00:05:37.968 --> 00:05:52.100
So congrats on being able to push through all that and get to the other side and start to focus on what you're really deeply passionate about, which sounds like right now is sales relationships and, of course, taking HeyHey to the next level, exactly where you want it.

00:05:52.100 --> 00:05:54.105
So let's dig in a little bit.

00:05:54.105 --> 00:06:05.485
If you and I are sitting in the back of an Uber and I ask you what you do and you tell me you developed a software that turns me into a robocop or social media, what does that mean?

00:06:05.485 --> 00:06:08.773
When you're breaking it down to me, what exactly does HeyHey do?

00:06:10.259 --> 00:06:10.480
Yeah.

00:06:10.480 --> 00:06:20.656
So first, I, like you, know, the offer is basically we get you, help you get more leads, close more deals on social media without ads or spam.

00:06:20.656 --> 00:06:28.865
And the way we do that is by our HeyHey CRM, which does two things, three things, very well.

00:06:28.865 --> 00:06:43.637
First, it's really the only platform out there that lets you load leads directly from social media into your CRM without having to manually enter any data or any information like that.

00:06:43.637 --> 00:06:55.036
So to the lazy salesperson in me now you're telling me oh, I don't have to write Sebastian's name out, put his phone number in, put his link to his Facebook page.

00:06:55.036 --> 00:06:58.608
I don't have to do all that, I can just click two buttons and all of that goes into the system.

00:06:58.608 --> 00:07:06.029
Not only can I do that for one person, I can do that for hundreds of people at one time, and that allows us to then start collecting leads.

00:07:06.029 --> 00:07:17.608
And then, once the system has the leads, the next thing it does very well is it manages those leads down your sales pipeline, and this is where some of the consulting comes in.

00:07:17.961 --> 00:07:36.401
We do one-on-ones with our clients and we understand what their sales process is, and then we try and replicate that in stages of a pipeline in your CRM, in your CRM.

00:07:36.401 --> 00:07:44.360
So if, for instance, you use a DM with a link when you're booking people for the podcast, we would set up stages for a booking link sent to the customer, call booked, podcast recorded.

00:07:44.360 --> 00:07:47.846
We would set up these stages for the sales process.

00:07:47.846 --> 00:07:57.608
And then the third thing it does very well is it sets up automations Automations on social media platforms 13 different platforms.

00:07:57.608 --> 00:08:00.392
We can load leads on five different platforms.

00:08:00.392 --> 00:08:05.589
We can run automations on and these are on your personal profile.

00:08:06.151 --> 00:08:17.041
Now, for people who are familiar with automation and the ability to do certain things, they would understand that a lot of things you can do for business profiles but you can't necessarily do for personal profiles.

00:08:17.041 --> 00:08:26.047
We work on personal profiles and what we can do is automations, and those automations include DMs, friend requests.

00:08:26.047 --> 00:08:31.154
We even have a process of qualifying and disqualifying people.

00:08:31.154 --> 00:08:45.520
So, when it comes to the lead process, we could scrape maybe 100 people from a group or from a post that we have, but let's say we only want to work with business owners and we definitely don't want to work with e-commerce people.

00:08:45.520 --> 00:09:00.062
We could put keywords in and qualifying questions and then run an automation that will scrape their Facebook profile, determine whether or not they meet the qualified criteria or meet a disqualified criteria.

00:09:00.062 --> 00:09:05.080
We can then filter those people, move them along the pipeline, just the qualified ones.

00:09:05.080 --> 00:09:12.144
We can dump the non-qualified into another stage and then we can automatically contact them and start working them down our sales pipeline.

00:09:12.144 --> 00:09:17.354
That is how we're going to help you dominate on social with Organic Legion.

00:09:18.340 --> 00:09:20.726
And is the software hard to learn and get acclimated to?

00:09:20.726 --> 00:09:24.754
I know I just got a demo of it a couple of weeks back on here and I'm just learning the ropes.

00:09:24.754 --> 00:09:32.293
Is there a huge learning curve, or can someone sign up today and understand exactly how everything works based on what you guys have set up?

00:09:33.221 --> 00:09:51.647
I'd say it depends on your familiarity with CRMs, but the system is designed for the use by VAs, so an offer we're going to have down the road is a trained VA on the system who will be able to do a lot of this stuff for our clients.

00:09:51.647 --> 00:09:59.871
So it's user-friendly, but it does take some time and each subscription comes with a video series of learning.

00:09:59.871 --> 00:10:08.500
And my main offer includes one-on-one with me where I get you set up, and that's about an hour-long meeting.

00:10:08.500 --> 00:10:14.611
We get you set up and we get you operating, loading leads and sending DMs usually within an hour.

00:10:15.953 --> 00:10:18.145
Excellent, so that's part of the process.

00:10:18.145 --> 00:10:22.019
When someone signs up, they get that call with you, or is that separate offering?

00:10:22.501 --> 00:10:28.312
Yeah, I offer I'm considering not offering the non-setup fee.

00:10:28.312 --> 00:10:31.025
I was offering it but it really.

00:10:31.025 --> 00:10:38.567
I want people using the system appropriately and understanding because look some of these techniques.

00:10:38.567 --> 00:10:46.153
There are two things you could do on Facebook that could risk your account, and that is DMing too many people and friend requesting too many people.

00:10:46.153 --> 00:11:03.811
The same thing applies on other platforms, like LinkedIn, and so operating within the parameters of Facebook and within the parameters of LinkedIn to avoid getting your account suspended or even at worst, which we haven't seen it banned, but it is technically against terms of service.

00:11:03.811 --> 00:11:10.581
If I had my black hat, I would put my black hat on because it's black hat techniques, techniques that might go against terms of service.

00:11:11.322 --> 00:11:24.438
So you guys are very proactive to make sure that, because that was one of my concerns when we first jumped on was like hey, listen, last thing I want to do is get my hand slapped or account banned because of third party apps that these platforms frown upon.

00:11:25.780 --> 00:11:30.423
Yeah, yeah, and a lot of the stuff is designed to be undetectable.

00:11:30.423 --> 00:11:32.525
The system operates like a human.

00:11:32.525 --> 00:11:39.392
It will click on a profile, it'll look at the profile, it'll click on the message thing, it'll activate the message, it'll put the message in, send it.

00:11:39.392 --> 00:11:42.254
We build in time delays, so it seems natural.

00:11:42.254 --> 00:11:52.721
We build in randomization so that it seems natural, natural.

00:11:52.721 --> 00:12:00.427
But even with that, if you get greedy and you start sending 100 cold DMs that are all the same message, facebook's going to pick up on that and they're going to slap you on the wrist usually a 24-hour ban of DMing people.

00:12:00.427 --> 00:12:06.426
It's not the end of the world, but it tells you when to back off and we want to be as compliant.

00:12:06.426 --> 00:12:11.154
This system was the most compliant that I found in the marketplace.

00:12:11.559 --> 00:12:23.789
There are other systems and I use them that are pure automation plays and I implement them for clients, but they are more dangerous, they are rarer but they also are set it and forget it kind of stuff.

00:12:23.789 --> 00:12:28.403
This CRM isn't what you and I joked about and you mentioned.

00:12:28.403 --> 00:12:35.687
You know I don't want something that's just going to cold DM my mom on Facebook, right, and we don't do that.

00:12:35.687 --> 00:12:49.067
These are leads that you're curating and managing A salesperson or a VA is managing this process and it only runs the automation when you tell it to run the automation on that set of leads.

00:12:49.067 --> 00:12:51.186
And so we do.

00:12:51.186 --> 00:12:53.705
We take all the precautions to avoid anything else.

00:12:53.705 --> 00:13:00.445
And yeah, sorry, my wife has just got home and is telling me we have Puerto Rican food for lunch.

00:13:00.947 --> 00:13:03.822
So that's exciting, I mean, if that's not a call to action of hey, listen.

00:13:03.822 --> 00:13:05.346
I'd love to stick around, but I got to run.

00:13:07.711 --> 00:13:12.942
Well, I've got some time, but I I have something in the background what's that little mofongo action?

00:13:12.942 --> 00:13:14.446
Yeah, man.

00:13:14.446 --> 00:13:18.322
So they have a new restaurant in uh in the town, so we wanted to check it out.

00:13:18.322 --> 00:13:18.926
I knew she was.

00:13:18.926 --> 00:13:20.615
She asked me if I wanted anything for lunch.

00:13:20.615 --> 00:13:22.803
I said get whatever you want, and I knew she was gonna get that.

00:13:22.803 --> 00:13:24.970
So that's a good choice, I'm here in miami.

00:13:25.010 --> 00:13:29.187
so there's a plethora of uh puerto rican cuisine uh readily available on.

00:13:29.187 --> 00:13:33.530
So if someone's listening to this right now and they're like, hey, this sounds really interesting, I could utilize this for my business.

00:13:33.530 --> 00:13:39.413
In fact, if you are in business, you need to take a look at HeyHey, because number one going to increase your productivity.

00:13:39.413 --> 00:13:43.071
Number two, increase your sales and bottom line ultimately.

00:13:43.071 --> 00:13:48.222
So what's the best way for people to get a demo of how everything works and to be able to potentially sign up with you?

00:13:48.222 --> 00:13:50.759
To get a demo of how everything works and to be able to potentially sign up with you.

00:13:51.301 --> 00:14:05.424
Yeah, so I'll give you a link to heyheycrmio and right now there's no contact form on there, but I'll get one up and you can reach out through there or find me on Facebook.

00:14:05.424 --> 00:14:13.620
Kyle Kuciemba K-U-C-I-E-M-B-A on Facebook is really the best way to get in touch with me.

00:14:13.620 --> 00:14:16.009
Send me a DM and we'll connect.

00:14:16.009 --> 00:14:20.361
I'm available almost all the time and, yeah, happy to demo it.

00:14:20.361 --> 00:14:21.605
No hard sales pitch here.

00:14:21.605 --> 00:14:29.970
I only want people who this is the right solution for them and a very consultative approach, Happy to talk about it and learn about your business and see if we can help.

00:14:30.591 --> 00:14:40.027
Love that, and if you're listening to this right now and you're like, hey, listen, I'm just going to hit Sebastian up because I want to know more about this, you can do that too, and I'll make a personal introduction to Kyle so that you can really understand.

00:14:40.067 --> 00:14:54.572
In fact, what we're going to do is we're yeah, in fact, um that, you can, you can derive traffic to and that'll, um, that'll help me out and help us both out on the back.

00:14:54.611 --> 00:14:54.913
Yeah, absolutely.

00:14:54.913 --> 00:14:56.801
That link will be in the description show notes of this podcast episode.

00:14:56.801 --> 00:14:58.245
Kyle, love what you're up to.

00:14:58.245 --> 00:15:04.548
I appreciate your time coming on and, uh, sharing with our audience what you do, how you do it and how it can actually benefit them.

00:15:04.548 --> 00:15:07.383
So we'll have to have you back on the show at some point.

00:15:07.383 --> 00:15:12.312
I point you and I are making some moves behind the scenes, helping getting this thing to market even faster.

00:15:12.312 --> 00:15:15.323
So I'm sure this is just the first of any conversations.

00:15:15.323 --> 00:15:16.486
Any final thoughts for our listeners?

00:15:17.951 --> 00:15:19.999
no, I'm just so appreciative of you man.

00:15:19.999 --> 00:15:21.000
I was happy to meet you.

00:15:21.000 --> 00:15:23.788
We've got similar vibes, that new york miami connection.

00:15:23.788 --> 00:15:25.032
Now I'll actually be.

00:15:25.032 --> 00:15:29.495
I'll be in clear water on thursday thursday to sunday hitting the, hitting the Florida up.

00:15:29.495 --> 00:15:33.888
It's still a little chilly up here in New York it's like 68, 70.

00:15:33.888 --> 00:15:34.489
I need some of that.

00:15:34.509 --> 00:15:36.221
That's freezing for us here in South Florida.

00:15:36.301 --> 00:15:37.543
I know, I know.

00:15:37.543 --> 00:15:39.869
So this skin is a little too pale.

00:15:39.869 --> 00:15:40.630
I need some sun.

00:15:41.432 --> 00:15:42.682
Well, you enjoyed the beach.

00:15:42.682 --> 00:15:44.846
Enjoy your Puerto Rican lunch cuisine.

00:15:44.846 --> 00:15:47.793
You got going on today here too, and thanks again for your time.
